Welcome to Script Bar & Bistro - an Italian style bistro located in the heart of Melbourne's arts precinct at Southbank.

Nestled between the award winning Melbourne Theatre Company and the critically acclaimed Melbourne Recital Centre, Script offers a sophisticated bistro, superb bar and sun-drenched terrace open from breakfast through to supper.

Our menu is predominantly Italian in style and uses seasonal produce, sourced locally where possible, to create approachable dishes showcasing the best Victoria has to offer.

Our wine list is extensive and offers 21 different wines by the glass. We also stock a huge range of liqueurs, aperitifs and a nifty cocktail list.

“We booked on line and with a phone message both of which were acknowledged within one or two minutes. We arrived early (and) the table was waiting. We ordered promptly, ate beautiful and lovingly prepared food, two courses and beverages, at a leisurely pace and were ready to leave in 45 minutes without feeling any rush or urgency. But it’s not your average ‘venue café’; it’s a good quality restaurant serving well-prepared and cooked dishes supported by a small but excellent wine list.
